Imre Kovách
Dr.Imre Kovách is one of the leading experts on the development in Central Europe after 1990.  His areas of expertise include rural development and social classes; recently he has been specializing in environmental questions as well.

As a researcher, Imre Kovách established connections with the U.S.A. in the early 1990s.  Later, he became one of the leading researchers in his field in Europe, as well as one of the leading organizers of comparative and cross-border research.  For example, he has been the president of the European Society for Rural Sociology.

Among the innovative research efforts of Imre Kovách, the formation of a new “project class” in rural Europe can be mentioned.  This research has taken place in close connection with the Swedish School of Social Science, as well as research on rural-urban relations in selected European countries.
