Module in Foreign Reporting
The next Foreign Reporting module will take place 3-23 November 2012. Application opens 1st March!
Application information
All applications must arrive at the Swedish School of Social Science 15th May 2012 at the latest. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered!
The Foreign Reporting application should be written in your own words but must include the following attached documentation in English :
- Letter of Motivation
- Curriculum Vitae (emphasising on experiences related to Journalism)
- Transcript of Record from home university*
- Recommendation from home university*
* not needed for students from Soc&kom
We do also accept e-mail based applications and for exchange students that you upload all documents into the Mobility Online database on time. All official papers need to be signed and scanned in in order to be valid. Exchange and visitng student applying for the module is kindly asked to contact the international planning officer at Soc&kom before filling in the application. (sskh-international(at)helsinki.fi.
Students applying as exchange students, visiting students or JOO-students must moreover fill in an application to get a study right for University of Helsinki
Exchange Students
All students studying at a University or School with which the Swedish School of Social Science has an exchange agreement, should apply to the module in Foreign Reporting as exchange students.
The application information for exchange students, including the link to the online application form in the program Mobility Online, is available here. Please notice that the online application form will be opened on 1st of March and will close on 15th May 2012. Please state Foreign Reporting, 20 ECTS, in the Learning agreement that you find in the Mobility Online. You are as well able to apply for a whole term or academic year, when adding extra courses between 25 and 60 ECTS.
The application form for exchange students does NOT include an application for housing. You will need to apply for your housing separately through HOAS.
Visiting students
Students studying at a University or School with which the Swedish School of Social Science does not have an exchange agreement, may apply to the programme in Foreign Reporting as visiting students.

Please notice that visiting students must arrange their own housing. Applications can be sent to HOAS (visiting students unfortunately usually only get unfurnished rooms) or you might find a flat here.
JOO-students
Students studying Journalism/Communication at the University of Tampere and the University of Jyväskylä may apply to the programme in Foreign Reporting through the JOO-agreement. The application form is available here. The JOO-application needs to be amde before 15th of May.
Please notice that JOO-students must arrange their own housing. Applications can be sent to HOAS or you might find a flat here.
