Foreign Reporting (advanced Bachelor's level)

The next Foreign Reporting module will take place 3-23 November 2012. Application opens 1st March!
The module Foreign Reporting has been organized for a decade already. It's both a theoretical and practical programme aimed at providing students with the conceptual framework and the practical skills needed to work as a foreign reporter on assignment. The programme puts emphasis on multiculturalism, ethnicity and international journalism.
The Module Foreign Reporting consists of:
- International Journalism, 5 ECTS
- Ethnicity, Representation and the Media, 5 ECTS
- Foreign Correspondence in Practice, 6 ECTS
- Integrative Week, 4 ECTS
As one of the practical exercises, the students travel to Estonia on a working assignment which will result
in a report for newspaper, radio or television. Thus, the participants are expected to have good
English skills and some experience of practical journalism. See course programme for detailed information about the module content.
A Foreign Reporing coordinator is assigned to assist the students with various matters throughout the module.
Feedback from Foreign Reporting participants 2011:
It is a complete module that offers students the opportunity to experience journalistic practice in a constructive and supportive way.
Rewarding. Intense but educative. Good lecturers.
I would recommend it because it is useful for professional knowledge and also it helps to find friends and colleges all around the world.
It is the perfect way to do foreign exchange. And the Estonia trip was great!
Brilliant course! You can’t possibly regret this experience.
The fact that it brings people from different countries makes it even more exciting. It’s really an opportunity to learn.
It gives you a more international perspective on the world and the media. Also, it’s a great way to meet colleagues from the whole world.
