The Research Institute
The Research Institute (FISS) at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki was established in 1986. In 1993, the Research Institute moved to its present location at the Pohjoinen Hesperiakatu 15, and rapidly expanded into a multidisciplinary social research institute. The Research Institute houses a staff of 30-40 researchers and PhD-students in different academic disciplines: Journalism, Media & Communication, Social Policy with Social Work, Social Psychology, Sociology, Political Science and Law.
